two nodes RAC on ASM based on oracle enterprise linux 6
run the script “runcluvfy.sh” to verify if the two nodes is ready for upgrade
you can find the script runcluvfy.sh in the grid software package
3.prepare the directory
I will use the out-of-space upgrade,so I need to prepare the directory in advance.
out-of-space upgrade is recommended by oracle,prepare the seperated directory for the new GI home and RDBMS home
3.1 GI directory prepare
$ORACLE_BASE will not change ,it’s still in “/u01/app/grid”
$ORACLE_HOME will go to:/u01/app/220.127.116.11/grid
mkdir -p /u01/app/18.104.22.168/grid chown -R grid:oinstall /u01/app/22.214.171.124/grid/ chmod -R 775 /u01/app/126.96.36.199/grid/
do it in both nodes
3.2 RDBMS directory prepare
prepare the directory for the RDBMS
mkdir -p /u01/app/oracle/product/188.8.131.52/db_1 chown -R oracle:oinstall /u01/app/oracle/product/184.108.40.206/db_1/ chmod -R 775 /u01/app/oracle/product/220.127.116.11/db_1/
4.upgrade the GI
4.1 unset the envrionment variables
unset ORACLE_BASE ORACLE_HOME ORACLE_SID
[grid@pig1 ~]$ unset ORACLE_BASE ORACLE_HOME ORACLE_SID [grid@pig1 ~]$ echo $ORACLE_HOME [grid@pig1 ~]$
go the GUI to run runInstaller,you can see the crs resource status before running the runInstaller.

run the script in both nodes
run it in node1 firstly,then do the same work in node2.
the output of node2 is different from node1,you can find the details in their output logs
below is the section output from node2,you can find that the CRS is successfully upgrade to 18.104.22.168
